Two months ago while I was sitting eating lunch I got this horrible headache. After a week of this constant headache I went to the doctor who ordere an mri. The mri is was okay except it showed that I had a small venous angioma which the neurologist told me was nothing to worry about and it was not causing my headache. The day after that my vision went blurry and the headache was worse so they put me in the hosptial for three days running more mri's, mra, mrv and did a spinal tap on me. In the end they said everything was fine and told me I just had a headache. Since then I have developed dizzy episodes where I feel like I am going to pass out. Today I am very dizzy but my head is not hurting. I went to and ENT specialist and he told me that my test showed that I have a central balance disorder that I probably caused by something neurological like a migraine. The thing I am worried about it I wake up in the night with my arm asleep about every night. I remember one night I woke up and it felt like my arm was a weight and it was hard to left but after a few minutes it got back to normal. I have tingling in my arms and hands but I figured it was just carpul tunnel since I work on the computer all day and have for 8 years now. Any suggestions? I have an appt. Nov. 3 with a different neurologist that the ENT specialist is sending me to for my balance disorder. I hope everyone is doing well. Oh just some info on me. I am a 25 year old with a 18 month old wonderful boy named Colin. I have been married for over three years now and I live in Northern Mississippi. Oh, and this was really the first headache I have every really had that I can remember.

Hi, I am a RN and a migraine sufferer. I can tell you that it is totally possible that what you are felling are all symptoms of a migraine. A migraine can occur when one or two and sometime both things are occuring in the brain. It can be hyperactivity that is causing nerve endings to get irritated and/or blood vessles that get inflammed and push on the nerve endings and cause pain. Any time we deal with nerves and the brain many funny things can happen in the body. Visual, hearing, balance, touch, smell, basically all of our body fuctions can get messed up. There is one type of migraine where people can have total paralysis on one side of the body but that rare. It is normal to have visual distubances and changes with your hearing (things usaully seem very loud or you have ringing in your ears etc.) Nausea/vomiting is also very common. I personaly have dizziness and have fainted many times but that is not the norm but possible. The numbness in your arms and hands may or maynot be from the headache but it would not be suprising if it were. Now that I am sure that I have scared you to death let me give you hope. There are many drugs that are used to day to prevent the headaches from starting. The trick is that it takes time a patiences to find to right one of combination of drugs to work for you. Since we can't see in to the brain per say other than a black & white picture we still have to kind of guess if it is electrical or vascular of both that is the culprit. So you doctor will start you out with one drug and after a while if that doesn't work add another and so forth. As far as treating the pain right now, there has been alot of good med that have come along to help there too. Those are called abortives. They are used when the others (the preventives) fail or you have whats called a breakthrough. The nice thing about most of these new ones, is they are not narcotics so you can still get up and go to work and function after the headache is gone. You use these just as you feel the headache comming on and stop it in it track so it doesn't get worse. I know this is a lot of info to take in and I hope that I didn't scare you do badly. If you have any other question, please don't hesitate to send me a post. I am under High Potein Diet or I have a website
