I have been suffering from chronic migraines since July of '08 and I recently went to a dentist who just happened to be a neuro-muscular specialist.  He messed around with my jaw and did his thing and told me that the cause of my migraines is because I have a "bad bite" that is not allowing the muscles in my head to relax at all and that is why it hurts all the time.  He said that he was in the same situation with migraines and that's why he became the specialist he is and that it's fixable.  I want to trust him for a lot of reasons but I don't want to throw my money into something really expensive just because my desire to not have migraines is so intense.

I was wondering if anyone else has been told this is the cause of their migraines?

Hi, I have TMJ (a clicky jaw and bad bite) and thought that this may be the cause of my migraines too. My GP sent me to a specialist who didn't agree with this being the cause of migraines. He gave me a splint to where at night to help relax my facial muscles but it did nothing for my migraines. He did say that if it didn't work I could then have surgery to clean up the joint but he still didn't believe it would improve my migraines he said that it would improve the discomfort in my jaw for a period of time. I decided that as he didn't believe this was the cause of my migraines and I could manage with the discomfort of my TMJ that I wouldn't take that route.

Also, with the research I have done into migraines it is a very complex disorder and personally don't believe that something as simple as a 'bad bite' is responsible for causing migraines.

ATB with what you decide.
