Does anyone have any experience with Cyproheptadine and migraines as an adult? My neurologist put me on this today and all of the information I can find about it is geared toward child/adolescent usage. I'm 29. I feel like I have tried nearly everything there is to try with little to no relief. I'm also taking Trileptal, Wellbutrin, and Xanax, as well as Migranal, Cafergot, and Ambien when needed. I would really appreciate anyone's feedback.

Thank you,

Hello, I was put on it relatively recently - unfortunately it didn't do much for me, but it may well do so for you!

I found that it made me very hungry and within a few days of starting on it I began having excruciating joint pains - both a dull aching sensation, but also attacks of almost electrical type pain. This has been concentrated in my hands and wrists, but all of my joints have been very painful. Thinking the cyproheptadine was the cause, I came off of it around two months ago. The joint pains still remain however, and doctors don't seem all that interested in them - I did have a blood test for autoimmune disease but that came back negative.

Sorry, probably not that useful a response!
