I normally post on the hepatitis forum, but could really use some input here. My husband has HepC/cirrhosis of the liver. Back in March, he became neutropenic and was admitted to the hospital because of fever/infection. about that time, he started getting a headache. But, with everything else going on, they dismissed it as part of the neutropenia, etc. He was released 10 days later and has had a headache since mid-March with NO relief!! He has had two spinal taps, numerous CT's, MRI with and without contrast, and nothing has shown up. about 3 weeks ago, he started having seizures, and he was admitted for about a week, and they put him on seizure medications. They also did an EEG which they said was "slow"....whatever that means.  He had seizures again yesterday, was transported to the hospital, another CT scan which came back clear, and sent him home with increased seizure medication dosage. This morning, I called the neurologist, and he ordered an EEG which was done today. I am just at my wit's end here because nothing seems to be helping, and the neuro cannot seem to find the root of the problem. And, my poor husband is suffering quite a bit.
Any input on questions I should be asking, tests I should be demanding, etc would be great!!
Thank you!

the EEG "slow". Ask for a cardiologist to look into that. Almost sounds like a leaky valve or a small hole. Also have him or you write down everything he eats, drinks, when the meds come on. Try having a filter at home in the bedroom and in the common areas. In the journal aslo write down the start time of these headaches, how it is described (sharp, throbbing, etc). Look for any common factors and see if food or water is triggering it. (water could be some mineral or something) Try filtered water. Try a msg diet. And thank God he has a neurologist.

Thank you! Never thought about the cardio are right, could be a chemical imbalance thing. He is on a low sodium diet already because of the liver disease. I will try the filter, and definitely will try to journal. Unfortunately, the headache has been ongoing nonstop for two months now. At times it is worse (especially after seizures), but has never stopped having a headache for two months.....this is so crazy. he is suffering so much!
