Hello everyone ,

I really just needed to talk to other people about their experience of migraines.
This has been my 3rd Migraine.
The headache (just in left side) lasted a week and i had sore jaws, and pain running down left side of face.

Now that the head pain is away I'm feeling completely irritable, hard to string a sentence, shaky inside and dizzy!

Do other people tend to feel this bad when the actual pain is away?

Thanks guys!!!

I have GOTTA admit "hangover"....you hit that nail right on the head.

I've been suffering now for over a year and a half with migraines and vertigo.  I too have explained the feeling to my neurologist that after my "episodes" the next couple of days I feel "hungover"...and I don't even drink alcohol.

From my own physical experience with my migraines after they come to thee "end"..I feel very lethargic....I too have total concentrating and work hard to put the right words I'm looking for into sentences, and a variety of other ill feelings that make me feel I was on a bender!!.  In my little "headache world" I think I have these ill effects because the migraines and vertigo get so terrible that it physically reaks total havoc on my body and this seems to be the same feeling I get when I'm coming "back" from a bad episode.

So...yes indeed...I can SO relate!!

Thanks Krista!!
Funny how it even helps just to know someone else feels the same as you! I worked right through my migraine, the headaches stopped yesterday but it was today that I had to say enough is enough and take a day off!
Still get really aggitated with sound too...especially talking on the phone!

It hasn't helped either that I have irritable bowel syndrome and has flared this up really badly for me! lol If its not one thing its another! Or in our case both together!! Vertigo with migraine must be crazy!!!

Hope you keep well!! Thanks for the reply!!!

There are actually "phases" that migraines go through...and the last one is very much a "hangover" type feeling. Tired, irritable, overall worn-down feeling!!!

Isnt it nice to know someone else has felt this way also?!

Phases of a Migraine:

  • Prodrome (examples: mood change, fatigue, change on bowel movements, food cravings, urination etc)
  • Aura  (visual symptoms, numbness in face, arms legs etc, confusion, vertigo, auditory chages etc)
  • Headache (this would be where the pain comes in, sensitivity to light, sound, smells, nausea/vomiting, chills etc)
  • Postdrome (THIS IS THE "HANGOVER" PART!!! depression or feelings of euphoria, fatigue, difficulty concentrating etc)
