Hey everyone,
I am kindof at my witt's end with treatment options.  Between my neurologist in DC, the Diamond Headache Clinic and the Jefferson Headache Clinic I have done 5 rounds of IV DHE, IV Lidocaine (for 9 days), IV Ketamine (5 days), and have tried proabably at least 75 different drugs over the last 2 year and 8 months with this daily chronic headache with migraine.  I just wanted to know is if anyone has tried something else?  I've heard of the possiblity of being put into a Ketamine coma, but I don't know how likely that is to happen.  The IV lidocaine worked somewhat, but it only made me feel sortof human for about a month and half, and I was still taking pain killers (just not narcortics).  I am now on Namenda, which has had some results in the headache community, but I don't think it is doing much for me.  I'm really not interested in Botox and I think I am going to call an acurpunturist tomorrow.  But beyond that, I have no new ideas.  And over the last couple of months, I've been so tired and in so much pain that I can barely get out of bed.  I guess my biggest problem is that if it works, it only works for a short time before it stops working.  Or I have such server side effects that I can't even take the drug.  Sigh...  I guess I am just looking for what has worked for other people outside the "box."
Thanks for taking the time to read this!  I hope y'all feel better or have a better day tomorrow.

I see a naturalpath for my headaches. I highly recommend accupuncture and I also take an herbal preventative everyday that has been wonderful. It takes about 3 to 4 months to take hold but is worth the effort. It contains Feverfew, ginger, ginko, B12 and a few other things that I can't remember. The feverfew needs to be taken in conjunction with the other items so don't try to treat yourself. Find a good naturalpath. Mine also does accupuncture so I'm a one stop shopper.

Looks like you've given neurologists their chance, have you had an ENT actually look up your nose (a major nerve complex that gives headaches is exposed deep inside there)? oral-facial pain specialists? Allergy/gluten tests?

Good Luck! Don't give up! You might try a place with a bigger practice that has a headache unit like Cleveland Clinic, I think Johns-Hopkins is close to you.
