I was dx was this last week.
Back in Jan 07, I got my first bout of vertigo (no headache), from then I've had about 5 more episodes.
Each time I got this vertigo, it was either the day before or the day of my period.

When my migraines first started 5 yrs ago, I was getting aura's. Then they went away for about 2 yrs.
Then about a yr ago, I was getting a feeling of derealization, which I just found out is an aura

I went to see a hormone specialist because I felt this was all related to perimenopause (I'm 43). She gave me some bio identical progesterone to take.
The Neuro I saw last week said he would have given the same treatment

Anyone else in the same situation or have any input

Thanks

Jen

See an ENT for vertigo to consider age related inner ear issues.

I saw two ENT's who both told me that I would have to live with my symtpoms.
Both of them were not smart enough to suggest MAV

No one here has MAV?

Jen-
I think a lot of the people who are here are not sure what exactly their diagnosis is, they know they have headpain and they are "in process" at the physicians office! They are here to see what other people's experiences are so they can relate and maybe share things with their doctor.

Congrats on getting a diagnosis, that is a huge start.

Take a look around some of the posts...if you read them you will see that it appears a lot of people MAY have MAV and not know that is what it is. Please feel free to share your experiences!
Glad you are here.
