I am on day 8 of a horrible hormonal migraine. I get them every month and they usually last up to 3 days then subside and are usually bad, but this month was especially bad. I have never been so sick and I am on day 8 now and it just won't quit. Ugh! I have a one year old that I have to chase around the house so it doesn't help when all I want to do is crawl into bed and chop my head off. The dizziness, I get heart palpatations, nausea and just the sheer pain my head is in is enough to handle. I don't know why it came on so bad this month.

I had them previous to having my daughter, but not this bad. They went away during pregnancy, but it seems like they came back even worse since giving birth (about 3 months later) and now she is 16 months and they are seemingly getting worse each month.

Oh the stress. My regular doctor suggested seeing my ob/gyn and getting on a pill that stops your period so that I wouldn't have the fluctuations in hormones. Has anyone tried this with any success? I hate to go on the pill. I hated being on them in the past and found they made my headaches worse, but have never tried the pill that stops your period. I always felt it was unnatural, but I will do it if it keeps these awful migraines away or even less often. My family and I can't take it every month.

Any input from women will be helpful before I make my appointment.

I've had a off and on again migrain since this last Tuesday. It's really been irritating. I've only had one other Migrain and this new one is nothing like the last one I had many many years ago. I'm sorry I'm not much help and my doctor didn't help me either when I asked him to. I usually only get sparatic tention headaches it could be one of those to.

The only thing that's helped me in the past was honestly drinking lots of water. Low tech but it's the only thing that worked long term.

Since the only time your migrains went away was during pregnancy; they must have a hormonal trigger. You should see a headache specialist and get a long term treatment plan.

I can't believe I still have this migraine. Day 10 now. This is awful. I do try to drink a lot of water to "flush it out" or whatever it does, but it does help a little. It just gets worse as the day goes on and this is one of the longest one's I've ever had.

Now what would be a headache specialist. I am going to see a neurologist soon, but never heard of a headache specialist. I have seen Dr's over the years for migraines, but nothing has ever helped me long term. One of my next steps is to see a hormonal specialist.

Ugh! I just feel so awful and it really takes your life away when you have them. My poor daughter just wants to go out and play and her mommy is stuck in the house in the dark.

My Dr told me that since I got worse migraines on the pill, it would be worse if I went on the pill that stops your period.

Have you tried a chiropractor or massage? That sometimes helps me. I get long term migraines also.

I hope that it goes away soon.

I went to my Chiropractor and thank God to. He was so gentle and plus my migrain is gone, but I have a few spots that are sore but it's ok I can deal with those parts of my body now. YEA!  for the moment
