I was advised by my doctor that the headache I been having are called tension headaches. I was prescribed Tylenol but with not much help. I’m going to see my doctor again to ask for a better medication. Anything that you can suggest for the pain for now?

Oh my. I know how painful those are. In my case, I take imitrex as my doctor it to me. So far, so good. Not that much pain. I can still manage my days well during the headache attacks. Go ask your doctor about it. It’s available on any pharmacy out there. Hope this helps!

Hi fortress,
I would definitely call or visit your doctor and tell them its not working.

I beg you to be careful with triptans.  Before I started taking Sumatriptan I had a migraine headache once every 2 to 4 months.  The more I took Sumatriptan the more migraines I had, until 15 years later, I had a migraine every single day.  Triptans cause rebound headaches!!

Tylenol is useless.  For tension headaches, try Ibuprofen and shoulder opening yoga poses.  Biofeedback worked somewhat for me, however, I'd had a tension headache nearly every day for 25 years.  What seems to be working for me now is Nortriptyline.  It has cut the tension headaches down to almost nothing, and, so far, I'm having about 65% fewer migraines.

Good luck!!
