I have had migraines since I was 16. They were hormonally related to my cycle, had food triggers and light sensitivity. Since I began walking through the mine field of menopause my headaches have changed in character. Now they are cluster headaches that seem to relate to changes in barometric pressure. I have taken Imatrex for migraines which I take in conjuctions with Tylenol to releave the tension in my neck and shoulders that headaches give me.
Several years ago a neurologist told me to take 2 Excedrin and drink a Coke for headaches. I was skeptical but the Imatrex raises my blood pressure which I am trying to regulate. I see a naturalpathic doctor and have spoken with her about headaches. So hear is what I do, I take magnesium in the morning and evening (you have to take it with calcium), I make sure that I am well hydrated every day, I take fever few (herbal preventative) everyday in a suppliment called MigraClear and when I feel a headache start I take 2 Excedrin and drink a Coke. It all seems to be working for me. Check with your doctor before trying anything new but I highly recommend naturalpathic care, it has saved me.
