Hi,

I am new to this forum. I have had migraines for 30 years, though they have gotten much worse since menopause. Now I have at least some pressure in my head at all times, constant tight neck, jaw and shoulder muscles that have not responded to any treatment so far. I am taking Maxalt 3-4 times per week! I meditate and do yoga daily. Now I am getting a migraine from reading more than a page or two, or swimming even 1 or 2 laps, and forget a movie or TV, too much flickering light. I also have to wear sun glasses to drive at night because of the headlights. I have just seen an Integrative Neurologist who prescribed Ahswaganda, an ayurvedic herb, and Lyrica. I have only been on the Lyrica for a week (slowly increasing dosage from 25 mg. to 50 mg, next week to 75 mg.) No effect so far except for a very dry mouth. Help! I am am an elementary school reading specialist and I am going to have to quit my job if I can't find some way to get this under control. I am generally an upbeat happy person, but this is really beginning to get me down, except when I am headache free for a few days and then I remember what a happy person I am.

Few things come to mind. Try to get in a neurologist appointment. Also try to get x rays. Your symptoms sounds like a curve in your neck more than it should be. An x ray and a licenced chiropractor can tell you that. Alsosounds like you have stress. First thing to get this in control is asking for help. Get a neurologist hon.
