I've used this site before as a person who suffers from severe crohn's disease, which is much better than it was a year ago!! (35 day hospitalization, 3 units of blood, pulmonary embolism). I also now have peripheral neuropathy from my crohns, had endometreosis (now taken care of, but I have ovarian cysts constantly), so basically I'm in pain most of the time lol...
Well about 5 months ago the headaches started...I had some severe migraines, but then it turned into severe headaches every day non-stop. I was hospitalized for 8 days after having a headache for 20 days straight with no relief. I've been on fiorocet, lortab, tylenol 3, now taking anti-depressants, neurontin, and having accupuncture. I tried topamax, but the side effects were so painful (sharp tingling all over my body that wouldn't stop and I couldn't even sit still). Pain killers don't do much really, just dull it for awhile, same with the fiorocet. The funny thing is, the other night I took one of my sister's ambiens because I couldn't fall asleep and had something really important going on in the morning and my mind was racing. I've had ambien before in the hospital a year ago, so I wasn't worried about taking it. I had a headache at the time, and suddenly, as I became relaxed due to the ambien, my headache went away! I was just wondering if something like xanax has ever been perscribed for people with chronic headaches. I keep saying I'm not stressed, but I'm sure I am after all I've been through and all the things I worry about, my body probably is stressed out. Does anyone here take xanax for their headaches and find relief?
