Hi,
I usually post in the Chronic Pain forum, but thought you all might have more experience with this.

I used to get horrid occipital headaches all the time, but then I had a suboccipital craniotomy & C1 lami (for Chiari) and they basically went away. I went from having chronic intractable headaches to maybe 1-2 times per year having a headache for a couple days.

All that changed when I started on Synthroid nearly a year ago. Overall, I feel way better, but the nightmare headaches are back & the only thing that helps at all are getting tons of shots & then only for a few days at a time. If I skip several doses of the Synthroid, my headaches seem to get a little better but I need to be on the medication.

I've been reading that there are some indications that brand-name Synthroid causes/contributes to headaches in children & that some children have benefited by switching to one of the generics. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it work for adults as well? Have any of you gotten headaches from the brand name & then switched to a generic (if so, who manufactured the generic)?

If you stayed on Synthroid & found a way to get rid of the headaches, I'd be interested in that as well.

Thanks for any advice!
Frances :)
