hello,
i am a 19 year old male, and ive had a headache for almost 2 weeks now, also ive been couging up some mucus. i wasn't sure what category to put this in so i guess ill put in in migraine, if an admin wants to move this go for it. so here is some background information. april 13th i woke up on the amtrak train from orlando, to dc with a headache after sleeping the night with my neck bent uncomfortably, i assumed the headache was from lack of sleep since i get headaches when i dont sleep. but after 4 days i was starting to get worried so i went to the walk in clinic and they didnt really tell me anything. meanwhile the whole time all my mind thinks is BRAIN TUMOR BRAIN TUMOR BRAIN TUMOR since i have a pretty bad panic disorder. at the walk in clinic they tell me really anything at all, they just told me i was healthy and too anxious. I know these headaches arnt being caused by anxinty, it might be possible it is klonpin withdrawl but i doubt that. i have been coming down from klonopin for the last 2 weeks also. a few days after i went to the walk in clinic i still had the headache so i called my doctor up and made and appointment. He told me i might have a sinus infection also he for some reasons thought i might have lyme disease. so he took blood to test for lyme disease, blood count and kidney function. he put me on cipro (antibiotoics) ive been on them for 72 hours and dont feel that much better. i am a hypochondriac so i am freaking out about having a brain tumor, even though my only symptom is a mild headache. i dont have nausa, vomiting, dobble visoon etc. my headache seems to get worse as the day goes on and it is in my forehead and back/top of my head and in my neck sometimes. i know no one can diagnose me or anything but does anyone just wanna let me know their feelings? does anyone have experince taking cipro for a sinus infection? how long did it take to get rid of it?

Hi,

Welcome to Healing Well. Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. Please try not to worry, especially about the tumour, headache is the last symptom of a tumour there are many others to show up long before headache!

Stress and anxiety can prolong a headache, and sinus problems can give you some awful headaches which can last several days. Antibiotics for sinus can take a while to work, if it doesn't do anything go back to your Doc as it may mean you need a different antibiotic, or it may not be sinus and the headache is due to the way you slept uncomfortably, this can also take several days to settle down!

Painkillers such as Ibuprofen could help. Lets us know how you get on.

take care

Ann

Hi,

Hope you are feeling better. My guess is sinus infection/allergies or migraine. I wouldn't worry a brain tumor, alhough I know it can feel that way sometimes!

Calm down. I can gurantee you do not have a tumor. You would get so much naseau and vomiting, you'd think your pregnant and in morning sickness or have the flu. How I know? I wasnt diagnosed with a tumor for nothing!
