Hi all.

First thing I should say is, I suffer from anxiety and stress.

I've been having off and on headaches, for actually quite some time. Probably about 4 years. I wake up feeling fine. I'm fine when I get to work. After lunch, and about 5 hours on the computer, I'll start getting a headache usually on one side of the head or the other. I'll take a couple tylenol, lie down when I get home, and I'm fine. This happens 2 or 3 times per week. Of course, I've convinced myself it's something worse.

Last week, I came home one day feeling crappy. Not really dizzy, but just sort of "off-balance". Kind of weak. No throwing up, but I had to go to the bathroom a lot over the next 24 hours. That stomach thing went away, but the feeling of minor dizziness has stayed with me. I got nervous and made appointment with neurologist for tomorrow. I'm totally freaked out. I've lost a lot of my appetite and have been feeling just weak and shaky. Same feeling I got about 15 years ago when I was convinced I had AIDS. confused

Of course, the headaches haven't been present the past few days at all. Very worried. What can I expect from 1st neuro appointment?

Hi Damone,

Welcome to Healing Well. Sorry to hear about your headaches. Please do not worry about your Neuro appointment. You will be asked a lot of questions, but do not let that worry you as that is the best way to be able to tell what is happening to you.

I am no Doc, but it sounds to me as this is migraine brought on by the computer screen. Do you wear glasses at all? - maybe tinted ones can help reduce the glare that can trigger headaches!

But whatever I think, it is your Neuro who will be able to tell you what's what! Try not to worry, it maybe that your anxiety is part of the reason you are feeling so shaky!

Thinking of you, take care

Thanks Ann.

I started using a monitor filter last week, and that has actually helped quite a bit. Had 1 or 2 very minor headaches in the past week. What is worrying me more than anything is the minor dizziness. That was a symptom I read of a possible tumor and it's freaking me out!

Damone, please do not worry, before the dizzyness and headache come a lot of other symptoms with tumours, which you don't have! Try to stay calm as that will help you feel very much better.

Let me know how you get on with the Neuro, take care

Hi, I have had a lot of the same symptoms as you and have suffered with ongoing migraines about 2/3 times a week along with most days a low grade headache which can sometime be there when I wake but usually happens mid afternoon after 5 hours in the office. I've had these for 10 years plus and despite various preventative treatments etc, I am still to find a cure which helps me.

Over the last 6 months I have experienced the dizziness most days and at first I thought maybe I was diabetic as diabetes runs in my family and just needed a sugary snack. After the blood tests can back negative, I asked to be referred back to my neurologist as I too read dizziness could be a sign of something more serious. The scan concluded that the brain was all fine but I did have a bit of tissue damage in the top of my neck which my neurologist said could be making me dizzy as I too have an office job and have done since school so I was relieved.

I am sure it is nothing to worry about but just wanted to let you know my experience was kinda similar.
