Is it possible for a migraine to manifest as bloodshot eyes, and severe eye strain and photophobia but no other symptom? No throbbing head etc?

Background: I got a bunch of food allergies. When I take anything with soy, or steric acid, etc. my eyes go bloodshot and feel really strained. I also can't look at bright light. I eventually get a bad headache, but it doesn't come until after a while. I thought for a long time that it was the strained and bloodshot eyes that triggered the migraine, not an allergic reaction triggering the migraine which triggers the red eyes.

Is it possible to have those allergies trigger a migraine but it only manifests as red eyes for a while before the throbbing? Sometimes it takes a day until the throbbing starts after I initially have the blood shot eyes

I'm taking Wellbutrin now and it's working good at getting rid of the migraines, but the strained and bloodshot eyes are still there and are causing me lots of discomfort. what can I take for red eyes if it is indeed caused by a migraine?

Thanks for reading

It is possible. Anything is. Perhaps ask your doctor what would be best for red eyes. Probably an eye refresher I assume

Yes, I get severe eye strain. I haven't talked to my neurologist about it yet but planning to do so.

Male, Otherwise healthy, Non-Smoker and a teetotaler.
Flared for about a year before colonoscopy and official diagnosis of IBD on 23rd March 2007, at the age of 30 years.
Currently taking -
Colazid 2250mg 3X a day,
Azathioprine 150mg a day,
Salazopyrine Suppository 500mg, one every night (Stopped since 2nd June 2010)
Mesalamine 1gm enema 2X a day (since 2nd June 2010)
Metaprolol 100mg, once a day for migraine (since 13th July 2010)

Otherwise serious migraine headache. Migraine is affecting quality of life way more than IBD.

I just give suggestions. You decide what to do with it.
