I am just getting over a migraine that I have off and on for week. There was some relief during the week with Maxalt and Frova as abortives. I have only recently started taking Frova. I also take 200 mg of Topomax daily as a preventive. There were a couple of days when the Maxalt and Frova didn't work at all that I resorted to using my fiorinal with codeine. I only use it when all else fails after days of a pounding headache and this happens about twice a year.
I have suffered from migraines for over 25 years but another one of my newest triggers for about the last 3 to years is that every fall and spring I will get a slight sinus flareup - just tiniest bit of postnasal drip or tiny bit of runny nose and then a horrid migraine that will not go away. Eventually I have to go to my family doctor and get an antibiotic for my sinuses. My family doctor has also the last two times given me a steroid shot to act both as an anti-allergy and to soothe the inflammation with the migraine. The shot seems to help within a couple of hours.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has these seasonal headaches or more exactly gets migraines from sinus flareups.
