6 yrs. ago I had a 12 ft. fall  directly to the right side of my head.  Was in coma for 4 days, don't remember anything for 2 weeks before and after accident.  I just got a referral from my dr. to go to Jefferson headache center.  I have tried therapy at John Hopkins rehab with didn't help.  I suffer with head pain everyday on a pain scale 3-4 to 10+ when it is bad.  I also have back & neck pain which gets the same on the pain scale.
What I need to know is what to expect exactly.  I don't need physical therapy (did that also didn't work),  I am on alot of different meds since the accident.  I guess I get immune to them because after a little while they don't help.  I don't know what to do but I can't stand this anymore, it is ruining my life.   I can't plan anything or if I do I don't enjoy it because of the pain.
   Does whatever they do help?

I don't know what to tell you exactly; I used to know someone who had the same circumstances and was equally frustrated. I can only suggest that researching for the right doctor at the right facility is your path to follow. You've been to JH and Jefferson; my hunch is that you require a multi-disciplinary approach; I know Cleveland Clinic has that kind of structure; a Dr. Rod Spears is the head of the place... you may try calling there and talking to their triage nurses; they may be able to help guide you.

Best wishes Ann, I hope, I truly hope, you find some answers; I'm sorry I don't have anything better to tell you..let me know what you find.

When I was hit as a pedestrian, in a crosswalk (ya go figure it was my light to) I experienced a lot of pain like that. I did a lot medical massage (hurts like heck but very helpful in long run). I had a problem of headaches and a lot of pain because my muscles were really inflamed and pressed against my nerves. There is a thing called accubeads, that I just love. Its basically painless. You put these beads with medical tape on your ears and you just pinch the beads to the skin off and on through out the day. Your ears have thousands and thousands of nerves. Its like home of the nervous system. So you might want to look into that hon.
