Hi. Im new here.
I have had migranes since I had my gallbladder taken out.
I get migranes from smells and bright light some foods and also from air pressure, like when a storm is coming (like now!) but mostly I think Ive narrowed it down to my cycle. It comes around this time of the month.
A few years ago I made 'researching my headache's' my project. So, I went to the eye dr. and I went to try accupuncture, and I tried a chiropractor, and I had an MRI and Ive been tracking food allergy. All things panned out and I feel good that I ruled out the big things. It's come down to mostly my menstral cycle and air pressure. I find that eating an apple will make me feel better if not, take away most of the pain.
I went to a neurologist a couple of years ago and talked to him about doing botox but he said that I will have to have tried everything on the market for insurance to cover it. So, he put me on Metatopralol. A blood pressure med. And it actually works. Lately though, Ive been experiencing migranes. Seems like if I skip even a day of the meds I have troubles. This weekend I had migranes with vomiting and nausea and stomache aches. It was horrible. I might as well say that I lost those two days of my life. That, for me, is the biggest disapointment with migranes. I loose whole days of life. It sucks. I realize that Im preaching to the choir here but just venting out I guess.
I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and tell a little of my story. I look forward to reading more of your stories and learning more about this dibiltating problem!

Thank you for sharing! And I just wanted to throw in there that I know exactly what you mean when you say that you feel like you've lost days of your life. A migraine is so much more than a headache. It absolutely takes over you body and mind, I feel almost like a different person sometimes.
And I always get nervous when I have to fly for the same pressure reason...I always make sure to keep my meds in my purse :-)
