wake with a headache!

confused In the last week, I have awaken with a bang and a headache that confused :-) immediately disappears when I sit up....what is happening?....In the last week I have stopped drinking my 2p.m. cup of coffee(drink a cup of black tea instead) I haver never drank tea unless I have a cold..i've been 'picking' at food later than usual..but nothing significant...eating 'my share' of chocolate, as I have always done...stopped taking 50mgs. of Benedryl three weeks ago...any answers? we have had a dreadful winter in N.E., Spring is, by no means , here...snow yesterday, ice and rain as I post...but this type of 'waking' headache does occur during the spring, not in this weather...I am perplexed and will apreciate any thoughts on this that might this situation

That is perplexing. It could be due to so many factors. Caffeine withdrawl is certainly one possibility. Do you have any blood sugar issues? Try and make your self eat at your normal meal times.

It may just be that you get migraines during springtime, regardless of the weather. How you would explain this... I don't know.

They have done studies that demonstrate people born at certain times of the year fare better than people born during other times of the year. Some people's migraines are sinked to the cycles of the moon. My point is there are some very odd and difficult to explain cyclical events/migraine triggers.
