I'm 31 and I've suffered migraines since the age of 10... the usual auras, numbness, vomiting, bad headache and feeling disorientated... but one thing I've noticed is that i only get them when I'm outside and in the afternoon. 20 years of migraines and I've never had one when i'm inside or after the time of 5pm... I'm not doing exercise when i get one I'm just walking to the shops and it hits me.

Anyone else get this, or have any ideas what's causing it? Obviously I'm trying to figure out what triggers my migraine so i can stop it, but i cant work it out.

Hi swild,

Wild guess? You're photosensitive to direct sunlight. Do you find that you are more or less likely to get a migraine when it is sunny vs. partly cloudy vs completely cloudy? Do stripped patterns bother you at all?

I would try wearing a baseball cap and a pair of (good quality) polarized sunglasses when you go outside (regardless of weather). Keep a migraine journal. See if your migraines go up or down in frequency and intensity over the next couple of months.
