Hi,

I just discovered this web site.  I have been getting migraines about 1-2 times a month for practically my whole life (female, 42).  Over the past few years, I have noticed an pre aura aura, if there is such a thing, which is a ringing or blocked sound, as if someone is convering my ears, letting go, and then covering again.  Almost as if I am hearing the blood flow in my head.  I find if I stop what I am doing, push real hard on my ears to stop the noise, I can sometimes stop the progression of the migraine.  Has anyone else ever experienced this?

dbb, WOW!someone has the same thing going on as me!Yes, I have exactly what you're describing, but never really put it together with migraines, though I do get the aura thing fairly regularly....sometimes just a small pinpoint flash area, which may or may not continue on to become a real aura.I also have allergies, so I was just putting it together with those syptoms! But yes, no one has described what you're saying til now...like someone stops/unstops my ears. Usually it just happens for a few seconds then goes away.I too am a female , but I'm in my mid 40's, so maybe this could also have to do with a hormonal thing?(as if we don't have ENOUGH to worry about at this stage of our lives!haha)This website seems to have some sincere caring folks that visit regularly...best of luck finding more info and input!
