I'm a student studying product design and have been given a brief to develop a mobile/portable product to help sufferers of an illness/disease/etc. I've chosen migraines and cluster headaches as there seems to be very little in the way of products to help with migraines (apart from migracap - migracap.co.uk). If the product is good, there might even be a chance of doing some market testing and putting it into production, (one can be hopeful!) so any help that you can give me may actually result in a product in the long-run.
So basically, I'm asking for any general ideas that people can give me. And a few specific questions:
1) has anyone used 'Migracap' - any experiences, good or bad, that you've had of it?
2) can you predict when a migraine/cluster headache is about to start - does it become typical at a time of day, changing by, for example, time of year - temperature changes etc; and do you have any preliminary signs that one is about to occur, such as a slight headache or light sensitivity?
3) do they occur more at home, work, whilst driving, in stressful situations (or anything else of that matter?)
4) last but not least, besides medication, what physical measures do you take to ease symptoms - for example, turning off lights, wearing ear plugs, ice packs on the head (and what part of the head do you cover?) etc?
Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for your time.
