I've joined this site because my little sister (well, she is 41) has these awful migraine headaches. She also has intolerance to certain painkillers which leaves her pretty much at the mercy of migraine.

I have often phoned her or received a call from her, and she is suffering, wanting me to be there, to help or to call for help. And if breaks my heart to see her is such a bad way.

She has arthritis in her neck, which could be responsible for the start up of the migraine, but whatever the trigger, she is very ill with it. The whole day can be one long trauma, and it take the following few days for her to recover fully.

I want to be able to help in some way. wink

My migraines are also because of neck pain but for a different reason. I started putting heat on it. It helps take some of the edge off. Though it would be best to talk to a doctor about something like this.

I'm sorry your sister has to deal with this. Migraines are terrible and debilitating when they aren't treated. It is wonderful that you want to try to help your sister. I recommend getting her to see a neurologist who specializes in migraine treatment if it is possible. It was the best thing I ever did. Literally gave me my life back being treated by someone knowledgeable. There are so many treatment options available that are not painkillers, since you mention she is sensitive to some of those. Best wishes to both of you and I hope she finds some relief soon.
