I have had migraine auras on n off for about 8 years now (1 or 2 a year), no head aches afterwards. (I also have Dysautonomia and UL-Colitis). This morning I woke up went to the bathroom, laid back down to meditate, and the left side of my face went somewhat numb, and I felt as if I was a bit spaced out for about a half hour or so. I ate called my Doc, and the nurse told me to go right to the ER. I went to the ER, and the Doc there tested my hand strength, did some Nuro finger tracking tests, asked me some questions, and sent me home. Even now at 7PM Im still felling off balance during my 3 mile walk, and dropped a few words during a conversation with a friend. Im a bit spooked here and was hoping someone has been down the same road, and could share it with me.

Certainly could be migraine related but you need to rule out other medical issues like a TIA. A diagnosis of migraine is a rule-out diagnosis and it sounds like you might benefit from a cat scan or other neuro tests. Good luck!

People call it a silent migraine meaning you do not get the headache with the migraine symptoms. I can consider myself one of the lucky few because I can somewhat function.

I was 24 when it first happened. Numbness started on my lips and spread over my face. When it spread to my chest and arm on the right side with muscleache, I went to the ER. They did a catscan to see if I was stroking and an EKG to see if I was clotting. Tests were normal. Once doctor found out I get migraines, he said I was having a migraine and sent me home. Past two years I have developed more symptoms such as blurred vision, ear pain, dizziness, tingly, feel like someone is poking me with an ice pick, and lightheaded. I have had many more tests with a lot of diseases ruled out.

I recommend getting a good neurologist to work with you.
