ok...I have been a migraine sufferer for 6 years. I am 59 years old and can't take much more of this. Really interfering with quality of life. I saw a tape of a show from the U.S. (aired Jan.18, 2012) called The Doctors (I think) and a portion of the show was the story of a 17 yr. old girl that suffered constant migraine. She had a surgery that I am interested in. They referred to it as neural stim (as in stimulation) where wires were surgically implanted in her head just beneath the skin and also towards the back of her skull. A battery cell was then surgically implanted in her hip (gluteous). She had only been 4 or 5 days out of surgery and aside from pain at incision points (normal) she felt no head pain whatsoever.
Sorry for long story but does anyone out there know more about this procedure and is it available in Canada?? Please help!!

Hello Darkers2
I too am in Canada, ottawa, ontario. Where are you?
I have suffered with continuous severe temporal headaches for twelve years now. Have tried everything possible and no results at all. The procedure you are referring to is an occipital nerve stimulator implanted. I still have not found anything of the sort in Canada so far but seems to me it must be done somewhere??? if you find out anything let me know and i will do the same.

I just read another thread, peteswife, who mentions nerve decompression surgery so i will research that as well.

What times of doctors have you seen, meds and treatments have you tried?
