Hi
I had my first migraine with aura experience 3 weeks ago. The problem is, I haven't felt normal since. I constantly have blurry vision (worse at night. lights have an aura), nausea and brain fog. My short term memory is pathetic. I am sleeping a lot and constantly fatigued. My heart beats very fast when I do simple things, like getting up to go to the kitchen. I have also had "sinus headaches" every night since the migraine with aura, even though no sinus congestion or mucus is present.

I don't have health insurance so I haven't been able to get to a neurologist, did the migraine do permanent damage? Am I having mini migraines every day? Or is this really how long my body is taking to come back from the migraine?

any thoughts, links or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

You're not alone!

I'm a 51-year-old female, and I had my first migraine about 10 days ago (without aura).  It was a doozy!  It lasted four days.

The migraine ended a week ago, and I've had a constant headache ever since. It feels like a sinus headache with pressure in my right temple and cheekbone.  (I occassional have sharp pains on the top and left side of my head too.)  When I bend forward, my head hurts worse just like a sinus headache....but I don't have any congestion.
I have a poor appetite, brain fog, occassional light headedness, and a little sensitivity to light.  My neck muscles are also stiff. I haven't experienced the rapid heart beats though.

My doctor sent me in for an MRI and everything looked fine.  I'm hoping now, that these are just temporary residual effects of my migraine.  Based on things I've read on this website, I'm going to take some vitamin supplements (particularly the Iron) to see if that helps.  And I plan to get some massage therapy.

Did you ever find relief?

My post-migraine headache lasted 12 days, until I went in for a head/neck massage and craniosacral therapy session. The headache went away and hasn't come back!  My other symptoms had slowly been getting better, but I feel so much better now that the headache is gone.  The therapist said if this happens again, to come in during the migraine, or as soon as possible afterwards.        -daf
