2 doctors have confirmed that I am suffering from migraines, but I'm not sure I have been classified correctly. I just want to make sure that I am about to start the correct meds. My doctor has classified me as having classic migraines and has prescribed me Amitriptyline. My migraines start with an extreme, but short bout of nausea followed by a sort of loss of sensation. My senses dull and I feel as though I'm looking in on the world not part of it. sometimes I experience muscle weakness and I have difficulty raising my arms, head etc. Other times I have difficulty walking as though my brain is not sending the correct message to my feet. And other times I have difficulty talking. I know what I want to say in my head, but I stutter and forget words when trying to get them out. When this is done I experience a mild headache in my forehead and sometimes cheeks. The headache is equivilant to the pain of a tension headache, nothing too painful. With this I get more nausea, the just really tired for the rest of the day. Does this sound like a classic migraine? Will Amitriptyline help?
