I'm a 26yr old female and for the last couple days ive been waking up with a massive pain on the right side of my head. The pain lasts all day. If I cough or sneeze it increases the pain. I take advil to reduce the pain however its still with me when I go to bed and when I wake up. I sometimes feel dizzy and nausea as well. Its causing me to have problems sleeping. I'm not to sure if this is a headache or something else. Its a consistent throbbing. If anyone has any ideas or insight please feel free to share.. its been going on for 3 days in a row.

Hi DeannaLynn. Have you had this kind of headache before? They say if you haven't had headaches previously and/or you get the worst headache of your life, you should go see a doctor. It sure sounds like migraines but you should be safe rather than sorry and have it checked out.

Just so you know, I was around your age, maybe a couple of years older, when I had my first migraine.

I had just turned 26 when I was diagnosed with chronic migraine.

My first migraine lasted for over a week. Thus why I finally went to the dr. I had taken insane amounts of over the counter pain relievers, none worked. The dr put me on Elavil & Cephadyn, told me not to take the OTC meds like that ever again, I'd kill my liver.

Yeah, I told her that I was over dosing myself with the OTC meds, cause I thought she needed to know, and I didn't mind taking that much OTC meds cause at the time I thought my headache would kill me first.

I still have them... sometimes 3 a week, but they're no where near as painful as my first one. And they usually just surge on and off for about half an hour and then go away without me having to take the Cephadyn.

Try to get the Elavil & Cephadyn, and I hope the migraine goes away. :)

to go see the doctor however I do take pills for high cholesterol and High Triglycerides..
Ohh How i love genetics... If it is Chronic Migraine like you have or somewhere along those
lines and I have to take more pills i hope they can find something that wont mess with my
other pills as i have to take those for life.... its just one thing after another... I just got out of the hospital like 3 weeks ago for Pancreatitis and now i get this shenanigans. I honestly feel like my heads going to blow up.
Im just taking advil for now tho til i can get to my doctors... People are also telling me to get my eyes checked.
Last time i did that i cant remember but they said my eyes were fine... maybe something with my eyes are causing this????
