Hello,

I'm a doctoral student in counseling psychology and I'm conducting my dissertation research on chronic pain. Peter Waite (Admin) has given me permission to post this study on the forum. I thought that the members of this community might be interested in participating.

The study is completely online and involves completing 2 surveys and 3 writing exercises. Writing has been used in previous studies as a way to talk about difficult experiences, such as dealing with physical or emotional pain. This is your chance to help others in pain and help teach researchers how to better treat chronic pain. Your information is kept completely confidential and you are given an ID number so that your responses aren’t connected to any identifying information.

If you are interested in participating in the study, please email me at chronicpainstudy@umd.edu

If you would like more information about the study you can go to the following link:
clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01639196? term=NCT01639196&rank=1

Participants need to be at least 18 years old, experiencing pain on most days of the month for at least 6 months, and experiencing pain that isn’t directly caused by a terminal condition (e.g., stage 4 cancer).

Thank you for your help!

How long the enrollment is open? I have a candidate in my mind but will not meet her for another 10 days and can not contact her by email or phone for this purpose due to professional limitation.
Diagnosed March 2007 with left sided UC at the age of 30.
Currently on,
Colazal 9 daily, Imuran, 200mg daily, Vit. B12, 1mg, Multivitamin, 1 tablet daily, Fish oil 2400mg daily, Vit D 2000 IU daily.

Verapamil 320mg for migraine, Migraine episode now at least 4X a month,
Nabumetone 750mg as an abortive, so far so good with GI side effects.

The enrollment will probably be open for the next month, depending on how many participants I get. Thank you for passing on the study information to people you think would be interested. The study will still be open when you see the individual in 10 days, so feel free to tell them about the study. Again, thanks for your help!
