Hello all,

I have very bad migraine since more than 3 years now.  I have a several questions regarding migraine factor. Please, help me: my situation getting worst since 1-2 month.

Is a computer REALLY bad for me?

Is a flat screen is a good idea?

What about to read a book?  Is it bad?

And what about a cell phone?  Is it also bad?

I will see a specialist in approximately 3 weeks, but all the information I can get right now will help me a lot.

Thank you so much for your help!

Welcome Isabelle,
I am so sorry to hear of your pain. Well for your questions everyone is different it would depend on how bad your pain really gets. But for me a computer only bothers me if I am on it for a long period of time without good light or if I just stay on too long. I don't see how there would be a difference for myself being flat screen or not. Reading a book for me after awhile will give me a migraine. And for me cell phones don't give me a headache. But it may be different for you. I am sorry about your pain but I am happy you are going to see a specialist soon. Please tell us how it goes. Take care.
Your friend, Ashley

HI there,

I totally understand where you are coming from and yes..the computer can cause migraines!!

I sit at one all day also and I have learned that I have to get up and get away from it or my eyes start twitching and then the migraine hits.  Have you ever tried Elavil ??  It is a preventative med for depression and for migraines.  I have been taking in for years and it does work.

Also it could be what you are eating...get rid of cheddar cheese,,,parmesan cheese,,any aged cheese products..lunchmeats..anything with msg in it...

chinese food,,,mexican food,,,  I had a neurologist do the food test and it worked ....

keep us posted and good luck..keep a journal what you eat and when you have the migraine..etc.

Hi There,

Sorry to hear that you have this type of problem and I have one question for you which is: " are you a chocolat eater? ".   If so, I would suggest that you stop eating any types for a while.   I would also suggest that you make an appointment with an Osteopath.

Until you see the Osteopath, do this acupressure technique, every time you have that problem, which I am giving you now as follow: " use you thumb and index finger of your right hand and place your thumb between your index bone and thumb bone, on top of your hand, where they join in you hand and your index finger opposite your thumb inside your left hand.   On the soft tissue between both thumb and index.  Do not dig in with your thumb and index.   Instead, use both pads and apply pressure with your thumb on top and equalize it with your index finger underneath.   Keep this pressure on till your headache is gone.   Once you have done this to your left hand, you could do it to your right hand too.   Depending on how long you had your Headache / Migraine, it will take up to 15 minutes per hand.   You could do 10 min. the left hand and 10 min. your right hand ".

Good Luck

yeah  Very good input. Advice is good, support is very good, but medical advice should come from the professionals. (at least I hope they are professionals)

I learned that I have problem with my "Arnold nerve"!  Are someone else have this kind of troubles?

I begin to see a change with the cortizone I received last week and I will see a neurologue (is the orthogrph is good???) tomorrow.  Maybe the light is appearing after the dark...
