Hey all I my name is Jess. This is my first time ever posting anything anywhere so I am alittle nervous plus I have very bad spelling. Anyways, I was diagnosed with migraines at the ripe age of 3 years old and I am now 26 and still living with them. The docs said I would "grow out of them" when I hit puberty but I guess I never hit it  tongue Just kidding!

I have been through the ringer with all of the different types of meds from pills (imiterex, maxalt, zomig, relpax,exct.. to nasal spray to injections. Right now I am taking this horrrible DHE injection which makes me extremly nausious after I inject. Nothing seems to work anymore. All the sprays I have to take twice to get rid of the headache I cant take imitrex it locks my jaw. I need something I can take and keep on functioning so I don't miss so much work!!

I was getting 5 severe headache a week and then mild one on the off days. I started on Topamax 200mg daily about 6 months ago and it has brought my headache down to 2 severe headaches/week I also take celebrex, and muslce relaxers but now my headeaches are creeping back up more frequently.

After reading a couple of the other post I picked up that some of you use feverfew if anyone has more info I would love to hear about it. My sister-in-law grows and makes a tincter but she can't tell much about side effect's with other meds and wether it really works or not. And if there are any other vitamins that I should be taking that my daily vit is missing let me know!

Well I have gone on long enough talk you soon

Hello Jess and welcome. I am so sorry to hear about your migraines but I am happy that you have found this site. I have cluster headaches and migraines. I wanted to talk to you about Feverfew. I take it. I have been taking it for awhile now. And it has really seemed to help me. But if you take it you must take it along with Ginger utherwise you will become nausiated. I take a pill of each everday. And I rarely get severe pain. I had severe pain every single day for almost 3 years and the only that helped me was the Feverfew and Ginger. The prescribed meds always made me feel worse. Now for the other vitamins that can help and I take are:
Vitamin B2, Vitamin B12, Magnesium, and Vitamin B6.
You can find them all in one daily vitamin which is what I have done that I also take daily. I know everything works differently for others but I hope it helps you out. There are many herbs and vitamins that are said to be good for migraines. Well I hope you find relief soon. Take care. If you have anymore questions just ask. Talk to ya later.
Your friend, Ashley
