My neurologist wants me to start taking 250mg magnesium, 200mg B2(aka Riboflavin) and 25mg Feverfew twice a day.  The B2 dose works out to be over 20,000% of the RDA. He says it comes in a combination medicine called Migralief or something like that. I haven't found it yet. Has anyone tried this? I take migraine preventives now: Topamax 200mg a day, Elavil 175mg a day, and Zoloft 100mg a day, with Maxalt for acute migrain relief. I do not have good migraine control. I have migraines nearly every day. ---  In the last 2 weeks, I've had two days without a migraine.  I did start taking Magnesium. And I found a B complex that has about 600% of the RDA. So I'm taking those.  I'd really like to hear from anyone who has tried any special supplements, especially those suggested by an MD.  Thanks. ~~Pegasis

Yes, I have taken MigreLief. I took it for several months. You do need to take it for at least 3-4 months before it takes its full effect.

The bad news is that it didn't help me, but the good news is that there is very good research behind it, and it's helped many, many people. Dr Robert Kirshbaum from California, for example, claims an 80% success rate.

Good clinical studies have been done on all three of the ingredients in MigreLief. I would recommend it to anyone. It's better to just try the MigreLief rather than experimenting with the different amounts of feverfew, etc, since the research seems to point to the balance that can be found in MigreLief itself.

You could, of course, buy all three seperately. Just make sure they're from a reputable source, and that it contains the proper form of feverfew.

I wrote a brief article on the supplement here, in case you're looking for more information:

Hi everyone,

I have taken MigraHealth, also known as MigraLief which are both combinations of riboflavin, feverfew and magnesium. You have to take them on a regular basis, which I have done and found a reduction in my migraine severity and frequency. I would always suggest to discuss with your doctor before making any changes including adding "herbals" or "supplements"
