I'm vey frustrated and wondering if others have anything to offer. My 15 ear old has been diagnosed by a Mayo Clinic pediatric neurologist with chronic migraine. She is on. 60 mg of induration and was already on 20 mg of Prozac. In 4 weeks she has had NO change. Shortness of breath, exhausted, achy, 8-19 headache. Feel like mayo doc has diagnosed and is not communicative. Either I am an impatient and freaked out mom who needs to let the meds have time to work or I am just crazy. She has missed almost an entire quarter of school.

Hello Suzrunner,

Has your daughter tried an elimination diet? My migraines were caused by reaction to gluten. Since I've cut out all sources of gluten from my diet I've been free from migraines and regular headaches too.

I don't have any advise for you but to tell you to keep trying and that you are not alone. My 16 yr old son has chronic intractable migraines, has not been to school since mid January and has had 2 separate DHE treatments that have failed. I am not giving up on finding him help. Don't you give up either.

I wish there was an easier way to get help for our kids. My daughter is 18, in her senior year, and has missed almost all of school since mid-october. We've been to so many doctors and specialist I had to start her own calendar with address book. After months of tests the only two things we are ever sure of is 1) she has a brain (i've seen the MRI pics) and 2) she's not pregnant (seen the blood work).

How's that for thousands of dollars out of pocket for dozens of appointments, 3 ER visits, zillion tests, and oodles of different meds?
