Hi everybody, I am a newbie to the board. I'm a man at 27 who has a consistant problem with headaches. They can last for up to a week and they are becoming more frequent as I get older. I have built up such an intollerance to burning pastic fumes that even 1 whiff will set off an aweful attack. I blame my work where they have hot melt glue pots (workstations with hot glue). I have worked there for 8+ years and it used to take alot more exposure to set me off. Things are getting worse, I am however seeing a neurologist but it takes a long time to get an appointment with him. I'm on a 1 month waiting list. Now I get set off by anything, usualy some rouge burning his garbage, or any kind of melted plastic. My exposure is seemingly unavoidable, I may have to quit my job. Does anybody else have this trigger? What kind of treatments could I try? I have tried Elavil (could not stand it) and Butalbital (doesn't seem to work) I am currently taking petadolex about 2 pills 50mg a day, Ive been taking it for a month now but have not noticed any improvement. The pain is allways like a tension headache (a tight band around my head). My doctor says it migraine, but it's an allergy triggerd event. I feel sorry that we have these problems I wish none of us did. I was just wanting to know if anyone has these same type headaches. I don't want it to ruin my life but it looks like it might. sad   I have faith in God that this will get better, for all of us. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Fresh asphalt can set off an attack as well.

Unfortunately I can't help with your headaches but know that certain things can make my own headaches a lot worse. Like perfume for instance. I can however understand about it getting worse with age. I am 29 yrs old and over the past 20 yrs, especially the last 3-4 yrs, has been absolutely horrible. It is a pity that ypou can't get into your Dr quicker. I have that same sort of band pain around by head on a daily basis and then add the sharp stabbing pains of the migraine on top of that. Sun can set my off to get worse also.

Sorry that I haven't been able to help you.
