I m new here been doing some of my own research as I have been having daily headaches for about 6 months. They are a pressure on both sides of my head at times it spread so that its like a cap. some light and sound sensitivity and they do occasionally get sever were I have to go to the urgent care to get the pain knocked down to about a 6 from over a ten, but never goes below a 1-2 I m currently on gabapentin 3 times a day and tizanidine to be take only 1-3 times a day for pain but can only get 2 more refills in the year. I will be starting my third week on these so far no help except to be able to get some sleep. I see a neurologist who seems to be hung up on that its just a neck problem and its going to take time to find the right dosage of meds. I went to a physical therapist and she stated to me that my type of headaches are not treated or help with physical therapy but he did seem to listen to that, I also have some concern as 3 years ago I was diagnoised with stage 3 breast cancer I went though surgery and chemo, radiation. I m currently on medical leave from work as I was missing from 1-3 days a week from work this is very frustrating, and cost factor enters into it as well even though I have insurance I can't afford the copays for all the different things but I want answers so that I can go back to work, or sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to Thanks for listening.

Hi grankat, Alan from San Diego here happy tuesday! : )

I used to to struggle with migraines when I was younger, and my good friend went through years of debilitating migraines when she was in college.
One of my goals is to help at least one person each day get closer to their goals. I'd love to be able to work together to accomplish two instead of 1, how does that sound?

Email me if you'd like to talk more, thanks! : )

Hi Grankat.
Have you had MRI/MRV Brain, MR Myelogram?
Sounds like you might have to find another neurologist who will listen to you & not be hung up only on your neck problem.
A lot of neurologists aren't capable of crossing the 'T's and dotting the 'I's to ALL your debilitating symptoms.
Hope you feel better.
Good luck.

Have you tried an antidepressant? I was taking pristiq for a while and it helped. I am now taking hormones that seem to keep me from having migraines. I did get one this month but i was able to control it with zomig and ponstel. ponstel helps mine a lot but I don't like to take NSAIDs.

Have you ever had a lumbar puncture? Having your opening pressure checked could help your diagnosis, to rule out pseudo tumor Cerebri. Hope things have improved for you since your original post.
