I am 28 years old and I have been diagnosed with tension headaches by my family doctor. I have been getting the same dull heaaches around the top of my head for the last 12+ years. Over the last few years they have become more frequent. To the point that I am getting one almost every day. If left untreated some will get to the point that I become sensitive to light and sound. I sleep 6-7 hours a day and if i sleep more than that I will likely wake up with a bad headache. If I go to bed with a headache I will more than likely wake up with a headache. My headaches start generally at the same time every day with in a few hours of each other. I work second shift I got to bed at 3:30am and wake up around 10:00am  Go to work at 2:30pm and repeat. Around 5:30 my headache will start.

My doctor had my on 100 mg of  imitrex, and she recently started me on 100 mg a day of topamax. So far with the topamax I am not seeing any results just the side effects. I emailed her about going to 75mg twice daily.I dont like being on all this medication. The imitrex works great, with out i dont know what I would do. I need it daily to get by.

Should I go see a specialist? I dislike the topamax side effects even though I have lost a few pounds I cant remember how to speak.

Thanks Chad
