I recently started taking MigreLief, a supplement that my doctor recommended. It has B2, Magnesium and feverfew. I see from previous posts that others have taken it with some success and that it takes about 3 months to get good reduction in your migraines. I can hardly wait!
I also saw references to CoQ10. I posted questions on that, but haven't heard from anyone. Is there anyone out there who has taken this? I'm guessing that it's a supplement, but I've never heard of it. The old post said it helped reduce the migraines. I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried it. Will you please let me know how well it worked, and if it took a long time before it helped?
Another reference I saw was regarding a study that showed a 72% reduction in occurance of migraines in people who took Melatonin. Has anyone taken this supplement? Any success?
Also, Feverfew. I understand that it can also be taken at the onset of a migraine. I'd like to hear from anyone who takes it. How much do you take? In what form? Capsule, tea? How well does it work?
Since I'm not having good control of my migraines, I figure it's time to start looking toward nature. One of nature's remedies has been my constant companion for a long time. Peppermint candy. If you buy the round, white with red star burst type of candy, find the kind that says peppermint oil in the ingredients. It has a natural nausea remedy. Works very well for me, at least after the initial whoops if I don't grab one quickly enough.
Since many of us have had memory problems as a side effect of our migraine meds, I thought you might like this story that my mother told me.
An elderly woman and her husband were watching TV one afternoon when the man got up and said he was going to get a beer. The wife said, "Will you please get me a scoop of ice cream?" He said, "Sure."
She said: Write it down, or you'll forget.
He said: I won't forget!!
She said: Yes you will! Put some chocolate syrup on it, please.
He said : OK.
She said: Write it down, or you'll forget.
He said: I won't forget!!
She said: Yes you will! Put some whipped cream on it too, please.
He said: OK.
She said: Write it down, or you'll forget.
He said: I won't forget!!
She mumbled, yes you will.
The husband was in the kitchen for a long time. The wife was thinking, I just know he's in there trying to remember what I told him to get for me, but he's just too stubborn to write it down.
Finally, the husband came back into the living room with a cup of coffee and a plate with eggs and toast!
The wife said, "I knew you would forget! Where's the bacon?"
