So I have been getting headaches every single day for the past 7 months. It started as dizziness and now it's mainly headaches. Some days are better than others, but some days it's hard to function. I would describe my pain as mostly a "burning" sensation. It moves to different spots of my head every day, but it's in the back and temples the most.

OTC's do not work. I've had an MRI/MRA both good. Heat and ice sometimes help a little.

The only med that works when it's awful is Maxalt, but I get horrible rebound headaches if I take it more than 2 times a week.

Currently I am on a natural progesterone cream that seems to help somewhat (except for the couple weeks it has to be stopped due to menstral cycle)

Has anyone had a similar situation or feeling?? I feel hopeless and need answers so badly. It has taken over my life and doctors don't know what it is. They really just say it's "new daily persistent headache" but have no "cure".

Please help!!

From what I have learned the Dr's start off w/ the diagnosis Migrine. I am like the two of you. I get them nearly daily. Have had awful side effects with the Tritptans and have neck spasms. (amongst other conditions)

Depending on the Dr, It ahs been reccomnded i get ingections at the base of my skull (deemed to risky by one) and to the other extreme I;ve been told i was overmedicated. The only meds that ive responded to well are unfortunelty Opiates. After YEARS of other treatments.

In most cases the Neurologists dont' liek them becasue of rebound headhaces. However, sicne we gt them nearly daily I dont see what the big fear there is....

Thank you both for responding. I am looking into getting nerve block shots now (which is probably what you were referring to). I'm at least going to discuss it with the doctor and see if I'm a good candidate for it since nothing else seems to be working.
Chronic Daily Headaches. (New Daily Persistant Headache-NDPH).
Anxiety/Panic disorder. Depression linked to chronic pain.
