Ditch diet drinks, avoid aspartame/phenylalanine - a chemical loosely labeled as an artificial sweetener - like the plague. It's bad for you. Google it, maybe that's what your friend was referring to. Also, this chemical is in 6000 food items and drinks now, diet drinks, crystal light, light yogurt, if a product's label says light or sugar free, at the very least read the label and make sure this chemical is not in it. Better yet, skip all light, fat free and sugar free products. Eat foods with minimal processing, avoid junk food, stick to water, fresh produce, broiled or grilled fish and meat. Caffeine in excess can give you headaches.
