I am new here and have had headaches all my life but started with almost constant issues the last week in july. I will give the long run down and see what everyone opinion is. I first went to the sick clinic with a headache, stopped up ears, and ear ache. She said my ear drum was bulging and gave me a sinus cocktail shot and to call back in a few days if not better and she would call me in an antibiotic. I wasn't better and they called me one in. After over a week I wasn't better and went back. I was told the person ( not the lady I saw) called me in the wrong type of antibiotic and that was why I still had a headache and now major sinus stuff and got an antibiotic shot. A few days later my headache started to have a burning feeling and I went back up there and she said it was tension headache gave me another med and I left. I called back Later because my arm was tingling and was told to come back to check bp. It was fine. The other lady said I had tmj and that and stress was part of the issue. She gave me an anti inflammatory shot. A few days later the burning got really bad and you couldn't even touch my hair. I went to the ER. They did a CT and a sinus CT. Everything was clear. He gave me info to a Neuro dr. I went to see the nurse practitioner there and really liked her. She said explained each of my headache types (although I don't remember them) she said I'm having several types of migraines. She put me on topamax and did and EEG. The week and a half waiting to see her my pain had gone down and for a week and a half after it had almost gone away. Then I got stressed, ate chocolate, and think I had a migraine. Now the burning headache has come back. It's not always in the same spot. A lot of times it's on the sides about two inches above the ears but also on my forehead and top of head. I also get other types of pain in my neck. It's like the sinus/upper repertory just started this. I do have stress and anxiety issues. I however don't feel extremely stressed except over these headaches. I have also had a lot of blood work done from my yearly female vist and a full work up I had done in June before I had my gallbladder taken out. I took some prescription anti inflamitorys that didn't work and now she has me on muscle relaxers to see if that helps any. Next step is to call back Thursday morning if I'm still in pain. I do know that cloudy/ rainy days are worse. Anyone else have this? Am I crazy? Losing my mind? I'm starting to stress out over it. Dr doesn't seem to think its anything major since I'm showing no other symptoms.

Quick ? - have you eliminated all artificial sweeteners from your diet? The worst one is aspartame, found in diet drinks, light yogurt, 90% of gum and mints (labeled as phenylalanine), some candy, some cereal, you need to read each and every label from now on if you want these harmful chemicals out of your system. Aspartame goes by many names, the one I mentioned above but others, scan down a few topics to the topic I started - "eliminated aspartame and caffeine from my diet - headaches gone! - or something like that. I give more info on that topic, if interested google aspartame and you'll see the pages and pages of alarming links that come up, this "sweetener" is a toxin, it shouldn't be in our drinks and food.
- Rectal CA 4/29/99, Stage I, 90% sigmoid/15" of colon/GB removed, temporary colostomy, reversed 6-26-99, Cochlear Meniere's Disease
- Chronic IBS/D symptoms, multiple bm's, on low residue diet
- Eliminated aspartame, caffeine and alcohol from diet.
