Hello everyone, I just joined the forum today. I am so glad to know that I have someone to talk with regarding debilitating migraines. I suffer from complicated migraines. Often times when I have a migraine they result in a full stroke or a mini stroke (TIA). This has been going on for almost 30 years but the complicated migraines began 3 years ago. It is frightening to say the least. I am permanently disabled due to the effects of the strokes but I was unable to get Social Security Disability for migraines alone. I am very happy I found this board today. Thank you all in advance for being here and please know that I am here for any of you should you need me.

Hi, I am also new today.  I am so sorry to here of your pain.  I am 25 and have had migriane with aura for about 4 years now.  I would say I have 1 every 2 to 3 months( if not more).  It is not a every day or even week thing, but when it happens, Its bad!  I start with zig-zag vision, then get very confused( sometimes can't talk, think, slurred speech, ect..).  Then I get a numb tingling feeling in my right hand.  It last 30 min. and then the massive headache hits.  I lay in a dark room and cant function for 4 to 5 hours ( last "spell" 1 week ago last Thursday).  I am so exhausted for 24 hours that I stay in bed.

I saw my MD the Friday after the last "spell", and I have an appointment with a nerologist tommorow.  He (MD) told me I was describing more than a typical migraine and I needed to see the specialist before the migraines caused me to have a stroke.

You seemed to have walked down this road and can relate to how scared I am at the thought of been 25 with 2 babys and having to worry about a stroke!

I just wondered what all happens when you go through these strokes?  I think they will probably test to make sure if it is minny stroke or not.

Thanks for listening and sharring your story.  You are definitly not alone in this battle.
