Hi fellows,

I am 23, not athletically but in good health and shape, no diseases - just a little too stressed I guess.

Before the headaches started I had two or three episodes of what felt like a pumping vein on the top of my head. After that daily headaches started at the back of head, the temples, then forehead and now the whole head is in pain.

Daily, ongoing, never stoppable - both sides affected, sometimes eyebrows, jaw and lower neck/shoulders. Not too strong on average, but 1/3 of the time it is awful. Doctors says there's nothing wrong with me. Had 5 or 6 kinds of medicine, nothing changed.

What do you guys think about this? confused

I've posted this a hundred times by now and no one ever comments on my posts but here goes - do you drink diet drinks? Chew gum? If so you are probably ingesting a toxin inaccurately labeled as an artificial sweetener, Aspartame. This toxin induces 92 side effects the FDA is keeping track of but will not ban the chemical from our drinks and food. One of the side effects is migraines. Aspartame hides under a dozen names, google Aspartame and side effects, also alternate names the food industry has used to try and hide it from suspecting consumers. Get it out of your system, you will probably feel a lot better if you're one to consume multiple cans of diet soda, diet foods, light foods - many if not most have this toxin in them.

Now if you eat an organic diet and zero artificial sweeteners, then ignore my reply.

I dont consume that kind of thing very often, Marsky. I am afraid my headaches aren't migranes, but tension ones. However, I can't seem to find the origin.

On the other hand, I can almost assure there is something wrong with my neck spine bones! Maybe its a nerve thing.

Some background:

- when the headaches started, once or twice I felt what I would describe as a poping/pulsating artery on the top of head, accompanied by a sort of numbness or electric feel;

- when the pain is at its worst moments, left side of upper neck hurts, exactly on the first vertebrae (C1?);

- the most affected area is the upper side of head, both sides, above temples. However, neck, shoulders, forehead and even jaw may be affected;

- sound and light may worsen the intensity of pain;

- worst at morning, after lunch and better at the end of day;

Not really, alsky.

The neurologist I've been consulting tells my symptoms are of a chronic daily tensional headache. Anyway, I have an appointment with an orthopedist, I plan on give attention to my neck.

To Rafael Pinto
I get 2 types of headaches. One of them is exactly as you describe where my neck hurts, C1 feels out of alignment and head feels like a bad tension headache. It can also sometimes travel down jaw and behind my shoulder blade.
That is the one I get when I eat anything with CORN or Corn Syrup in it, which I am allergic to.
It took me years of keeping a food diary to figure this out. (I figured out it was food related years ago because I got a bad flu for a week and could eat NOTHING and my headache went away for the first time in years! )

Also, do you take Fiorcet or Fiornal? They cause rebound headaches and neck pain, if so, FYI.

Either way, you might look into doing an elimination diet to see what you might be reacting to. Good luck!
Me: Migraines.
Imitrex as needed, trigger-free diet. Can't eat any prepared foods, must cook myself from scratch

Thank you very much for the replies.

I have been on a cetogenic diet for 5 weeks now, where I can only eat protein and fat - meaning, any kind of sugar our carb is prohibited. The intention is loosing a little weight. Actually, there was no changes on my headache patterns.

Anyway, your tip is helpful. I will do some research on the food related subject!
