Personally, I recommend getting a MRI done.
A couple of months ago, I just woke up one day and started feeling dizzy and 'off'. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a sinus infection and put on an antibiotic.
I experienced more strange symptoms over the weeks like extreme fatigue, neck pains, headaches, a feeling of pressure around my head, and the initial dizziness.
So, after battling with myself wondering if I was being a hypochondriac, I finally went back to my doctor and he told me that since the symptoms have persisted he recommended an MRI.
I did the MRI and a pineal cyst was found.
I spent weeks in health anxiety and reached a very low pit of depression.
But, I've also spent a lot of time researching and I'm certain that this cyst is causing my symptoms.
It all seems very surreal because I've always been a very healthy person (I don't even have insurance, unfortunately, because I never had to use doctors in the past). I've always been really into nutrition, I exercise daily, I hike all of the time, I stay away from refined sugars and flours, et cetera. I never caught colds or viruses.....so, I put off getting the MRI for a long time because I thought "Oh I can't have any REAL health problem".
But, now I've grown to accept what is going on and as for now I've decided to journal my symptoms day by day, follow up with a neurologist, and go from there. The problem is that pineal cysts are very misunderstood and very UNDERexaggerated.
I am fortunate to have a close friend who is studying to be a neurosurgeon and he is certain that all o fmy symptoms come from this cyst.
Another friend I've made through all of this is having hers removed endoscopically by Dr. Shahinian in LA on Dec. 26 (2013) so just a couple of weeks away!!
I've accepted that it might come to that, but for now I just go day by day and monitor my symptoms and try to learn some grace and strength through all of it :] What can ya do? :]
Anyways, I've rambled, but my point is --- please get a CT Scan or MRI done to check for the pineal cyst. It really is not the end of the world if you have one. But atleast you will *know* and be able to move forward with a clear direction.
If you have any questions, feel free :]
Take care x
