I get the same way when I smell smoke.

Is it possible to open up the windows or go get some fresh air?
Or even better tell whoever is smoking in the house to take it outside?

I do that actually. But you know sometimes when you're living with a smoker in the house, the smell stinks in the whole house no matter what you do. sometimes i spray perfume or cologne just to get away with it but its temporary.. thinking of a solution with longer effect :)

Yes, much more inside the car. i think proper ventilation is very important, if not possible use the help of an air purifier or exhaust fan in the house. Secondary smoker has a greater bad effect once you inhale the smoke :(

I am in the same boat: the neighbor woman who lives in the apartment below me smokes, and I've been putting up with this for over 10 years. I am very sensitive to smoke, and I wonder how much this is exacerbating the headache. These past few days it has been particularly bad and I wonder if it's because I can't open my bedroom window as much in the wintertime Though even at this moment the window is opened with cold air coming in. The smoke seems to come in very profusely at the oddest hours, like 1 or 2 in the morning sometimes when I'm in bed. All I can do is slightly jar the window open, and I have my Holmes air purifier going at all hours, though not sure if this is a very good system.

Travis_Nobilis77, why you lasted for 10 years without telling her your dilemma? air purifier helps eliminate odors and cig smoke so i think it helps especially if that's your case.
