Has anyone had these tests done? I would love to know more about them before I go to the doctor. Can they be done at home? I don't sleep well in a hospital anyway so I am sure they won't get good results like that.. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Sleep Apnea tests are done in the hospital setting-and I believe that you can find specialized places that have more "home-like" settings so you can get more accurate test results. From what information I have they do not have them set up yet where you can do them at home because they actually monitor you and the machines during your sleep cycles throughout the night.

Hello,

I had a sleep apnea test done at home. The monitors are now small enough that they can give them to you to take home. You put the sensor on when you go to bed and then turn the machine off when you wake up. You pick the machine up late in the day and return it the next morning. In Canada we don't keep anyone in hospital anymore unless you're dying. :-)
