Hi all - new poster here.

Several days ago (Tuesday; today is Friday) I got a migraine. I take Topamax and Maxalt. The worst part of the migraine went away overnight but I still had a headache the following day. Wednesday night I got another severe migraine. All day Thursday I had a headache (not migraine, but felt weak and terrible). I got through Thursday night without a migraine, but now it's Friday and I still have a headache (not migraine, but still a headache). It's been moving from front of head, to behind right eye, to entire head, and now it's in the back of my skull.

I'm exhausted and frustrated and keep waiting for it to come back. I feel like I have that "migraine hangover" all the time and am afraid to go out driving by myself in case the sun triggers another.

Advice? I feel like if it's not a full-blown migraine that I shouldn't be too panicky about it, but I'm so darn tired and the headache is always there.

One, are you pushing the water and staying well hydrated? It will help with the migraine hangover and prevent a new one starting.

I take Topamax as a prevenative med for daily head pain. You might ask your doc for Imitrex for migraine relief as a PRN. Works well for me and elimates the pain.

Imitrex makes me puke :( My neuro told me to start taking 2 Aleve every 12 hours for a few days. I did for about three days, which stopped it for a bit, but the headaches are back. I recently came down with a horrible case of poison ivy as well. I went to the doc yesterday and got a cortisone shot and am on a 5-day course of prednisone. I'm still suffering from a constant low-grade headache, and the doc thinks the poison ivy infection may have triggered the headache/migraine cycle. I'm hoping the steroid regimen may knock out both. Fingers crossed, because I still feel like hell, but I only started the prednisone yesterday afternoon. And yes, I'm doing my best to stay hydrated.
