I've been on 25 mg of generic topamax for the past few days for vertigo and migraines and have had terrible boughts of confusion, scattered brain, and general scrambled thoughts. I know this is a common complaint of topamax but it is giving me bad anxiety, panic attacks and is difficult to deal with. Do these symptoms typically go away? And if so how far along? I've heard a lot of different experiences on topamax mostly with the same problems and previously was on norttyptiline with little problems (typical fatigue) so I'm debating trying that again. Feedback would be appreciated.

yes, they generally disapate with a few weeks. Talk to you doctor and be sure he/she understands how you are feeling. I take 225mg of topamax now and it was well worth the side effect effort.

However some people can not tolerate the side effects, don't be brave if it gets to rough.
