Hey everyone. .
Im a 30 year old female, who had a benign brain tumor as a child, which was removed and thus far hasnt resurfaced..recently Ive been super stressed, having panic attacks, and within the last few weekd started with pain in my neck and pressure in my head. Dr. Is convinced its tension headaches, and has given me 10mg of noratryptaline to be taken once a night. Headaches seem to be getting a little better, but now I have some crazy things going on with my jaw. It feels very tight, and tense. Dr thinks i might grind my teeth at night too. Ive only been on meds for two days so im being realistic, but has anyone experienced this before? The anxiety of not knowing im sure is making everything worse, as it was stress that started all this to begin with.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, I grind my teeth at night. Sometimes during the day I clamp my jaw, I have to mindfully relax my jaw.

This comes from abuse in my past.

I think you tension is just transfering, you might need to find a way to release it. I exercise, walking my dogs. I also journal to release my emotions and say things I could not say to people in person. Organize my feelings.

If you are real angry you can try throwing ice cubes on the sidewalk or patio if you have one. It is a GREAT release when the cube shatters in a million pieces! Plus you don't have anything to clean up!

I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for your reply. I hope this goes away soon. I will try exercising more..and I think a journal would be a great idea. 💕

I clench my jaw a lot in the night and I recently got a night guard for it. It seems to help but I still clench down a lot. It seems like it doesn't cause such a headache when I do it. High stress causes me to do it... Can you do an MRI or something to have a look? That's the only way that you will feel less stressed.
