I'm not even positive this is the right section for this, but it seemed the best choice. I have looping (if that's the correct term) thoughts in the form of short sentences, that constantly bombard me to the point where pressure builds up in the area between my eyebrows and makes me feel like that part of my skull is going to implode or crack and collapse inward on itself. Sometimes it makes me want to slam my head into something (I don't because I know it won't help any). The only relief i can find for it is to press on the upper eye socket bone area near the bridge of the nose, this makes the pressure and the looping go away for about an hour, then it starts all over again. Any ideas as to what is going on? Thanks.

It sounds like you have ruminating thoughts. I am guessing that are negative in nature, which is most likely causing the pain. You be frowning due to the thoughts.

the stress could be causing the headache. I can only think that you have found a pressure point that relieves pain.

There are medications that help ruminating thoughts and therapies, such as CBT-cognitive behavioral therapy.

I suggest you talk to your family doctor about this ASAP and see where it goes.

Thank you. I didn't know the correct term and after looking up ruminating thoughts I had some light shed on it. I do have severe depression and severe anxiety. The thoughts themselves aren't all the time negative sometimes they are situations, for instance someone I have never met says hello and I respond with hey, my mind will replay what has been said and I will start to think that "hey" was not an appropriate response to "hello" even though they mean the same thing. I feel "hello" is more respectful then just "hey". This scenario will play over and over and cause pressure because I don't know how to stop it. I have never heard of CBT but it sounds like something I should try.

Yes, it sounds like therapy would be a relief for you, along with a med call rispital, I think that is it. I took it for a while for racing thoughts at night. It worked well. I am no longer on it.

I use the CBT and it works well for me.

Here is a link to give you more information on the CBT.

Also, feel free to post on the anxiety forum, I am sure you will find many people that are or have experienced what you are going thru.
